@In the words of Alice Cooper school is indeed our for summer. With summer holiday in full swing I drift into that delusional state of waking up late and wondering what day it is. With a complete lack of routine and structure and the military precision normally required to make it out of the door on time in the morning.
It cannot be denied that this feeling is liberating, with the hope of good weather to be enjoyed throughout the weeks ahead. During this time I like to set myself a little challenge, nothing too strenuous you understand but never the less something new. Last year saw me attempt to develop my Spanish - resulting in me sounding rather like dell boy trotter at the hotel bar, never the less a limited but interesting challenge learning languages has changed a lot since I was at school. It seems, there is indeed an 'app' for everything these days. In fact over the last couple of years this has almost become a mantra. When looking to solve a problem I hear myself thinking surely there must be an app for that. So onto this years' challenge, In a bid to 'get down with the kids' and drag myself from the world that time forgot. I continue in my quest to become more technologically au fait. Yes Alice, there are no pencils, no more books it would seem, and this would possibly be true in the classroom of the future. But before then I think I'll just try to get to grips with some new things. So, in the past you maybe would pop down to the library, say read a few books, right? No, school has been blown to pieces there are so many new learning opportunities now. So in an attempt to embrace modernity I've enrolled onto an online course, which thankfully can run as long as you like - nothing too strenuous you understand - what? you may wonder, well let's just say it's something that will hopefully help with other little challenges later this Autumn. So it's all podcasts on the sun lounger and webinars now. School maybe out for summer but not forever and learning something new for you has to be a good thing. See you in September. Sophie x
