So this weekend saw yet another visit to a vintage fair- oh how I love the anticipation of what you might find. For those who have met or know Sophie you will understand my complete obsession with anything sparkly. Not the blingy vulgar variety associated with the Wags of modern day life, but the subtle twinkle of the past. My collection of vintage broaches has grown to the extent that a pin board has been created to house these, as you can see from only a snippet in the image below. Feeling quite smug about the resistance of yet more brooch purchases, Saturday's visit did not leave me empty handed. Amongst the collections of china, glass, numerous handbags, a tempting vintage typewriter, I found, four rings all too decorative to leave, a Liberty scarf; which of course could not be ignored, as liberty is the essence of style itself. An Italian looking glass beaded bracelet which was purchased purely for it's bright colourful reminder that spring is on it's way and of course what else, but a pair of pewter peacocks the male and the female now walk proudly on my console table in my living room. As The rain pours down outside I remind myself that spring is indeed on it's way and I have more sparkly little bits of the past in my collection. Catch up soon. Sophie x
