Faffing, unicorns, creating energy and the stylists dream.
This morning I woke up to a small unicorn slipper in the middle of my living room, those of you with little people will relate to this story. I spent last weekend rearranging furniture trying to configure the best way to create more space. After dragging and moving furniture around the room in various layouts I finally came up with a solution. I then moved on to faffing with what my husband refers to as knickknacks; vases, pictures, flowers arranged into various groups for aesthetically pleasing displays. Cushions were plumped up and positioned and stacked according to size and colour and all of this was conducted with brisk enthusiasm. It is this desire to re-organise which continually refreshes my home, I have since explored three other possible options just for this room and it's only Thursday! I have read over the years the theories of Feng Shui and Whilst I am sceptical of some of the significant concepts behind this, I wonder is there something in this? One thing I do know is that a little bit of faffing energises both me and my home. This also causes much amusement to some of my family members who think that this level of faffing is uncalled for, whilst I have maintained the stance over the years that these are not mere knickknacks but integral to creating a home. The coordinating accessories such as paintings photographs pictures vases, flowers are also fundamentally important to creating an individual sense of style. The occasional unicorn encroaching on the pursuit of an insta perfect vista reminds us that the home is indeed a reflection of oneself. Go one indulge yourself rearranging, try new things and re energise . Happy Faffing Sophie x
